Most face swap tools store your photos for 24 hours, 48 hours, or indefinitely. Some convert your face into biometric "embeddings" and keep those forever. Some use your uploads to train their AI models. The privacy policies are vague, the retention windows are long, and you're asked to trust a company that has every incentive to keep your data.
SwapDatFace is different. Every free upload is automatically deleted within 30 minutes. Not 24 hours. Not "when we get around to it." Thirty minutes — just long enough to process your swap and let you download the result.
And unlike every other cloud-based face swap tool, we prove it. Our retention system publishes a cryptographically signed log (Ed25519) that anyone can verify against our public key. You don't have to trust us — you can check.

Do you really delete photos after 30 minutes?
Yes. All free photo uploads and results are automatically deleted within 30 minutes of processing. A background cleanup worker runs every ~14 minutes and scrubs all completed files. The retention log at swapdatface.com/api/retention is cryptographically signed and publicly verifiable.
Can I verify the deletion myself?
Yes. Check swapdatface.com/api/retention for the signed JSON report showing the latest cleanup run and oldest remaining object. Verify the Ed25519 signature against the public key at swapdatface.com/api/retention/signing-key. The source code is open source at github.com/swapdatface/retention-log.
Do you train AI on my uploaded photos?
No. We use pre-trained models. Your uploads are only used to perform the face swap you requested, then deleted. We never build training datasets from user photos.
Do other face swap tools store photos?
Yes. Most cloud-based face swap tools retain uploads for 24 hours or more. Reface converts photos into biometric 'face embeddings' and retains those even after deleting originals. DeepSwap doesn't specify retention windows. FaceFusion avoids this entirely by processing locally — nothing ever leaves your device. Do I need an account?
