Uploading personal photos to a third-party AI service requires trust. Sadly, many AI tools silently hoard your images to build datasets or train future models. SwapDatFace was engineered from the ground up to be a completely private face swap tool.
We believe that privacy shouldn't just be an empty promise hidden in terms of service—it should be provable. That's why we maintain a strict 30-minute auto-deletion policy for all free photo uploads. When you upload a base image and a reference face, they exist on our servers only long enough to perform the swap and give you time to download the result.
Cryptographically Verified Deletion
To prove we aren't storing your images indefinitely, we publish a live, public Retention Evidence API. This endpoint provides a cryptographically signed JSON report detailing exactly how many objects our automated cleanup scripts scanned and securely deleted during their last run (which executes every 14 minutes).

Is it truly private?
Swap Dat Face says uploaded images are not used to train AI models, are not made public, and are not sold as user data. Files are processed only for the requested swap and then removed according to the retention window you selected.
The default retention period is 30 minutes for standard use, which keeps files available long enough to download without storing them indefinitely. The product also publishes technical privacy details on its architecture page.
How long do you keep files?
By default, uploaded files and generated results are deleted within 30 minutes. That short window applies to guest photo swaps and is intended to minimize long-term storage of personal images.
If you choose extended retention with an account, files can be stored for up to 30 days instead. You can also manually delete files earlier from your account when that option is enabled.
Do I need an account?
No. You do not need an account for the basic free photo experience, including the 3 free daily photo swaps. That lets you try the service without sharing an email address first.
An account is only required for paid credits, GIF or video swaps, and optional longer retention settings. For normal photo swaps, guest use is supported.
Can I remove watermarks?
Yes. Free photo swaps may include a small watermark on the initial result, but you can remove it immediately without signing up. That keeps the free experience usable while avoiding a subscription gate.
For paid media products like GIFs and videos, watermark handling works differently because those flows use credits rather than the free photo model. The core point is that watermark removal is not hidden behind account creation for basic photo use.
